In this centenary year marking the start of the First World War, Sylvia Malt has researched and compiled a
remarkable history of those men of North Cray and Footscray who bravely gave their lives in what became
to be known as 'The Great War'.
Sylvia has lived all her life in Bexley and has served the community as a councillor and, today, as chair of
the Bexley Civic Society's planning and conservation committee. In this last role, she has unfailingly
supported the NCRA's efforts to preserve our Green Belt.
