        To NCRA Members :

ELECTORAL REVIEW OF THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BEXLEY

For a ten week period starting 8th September 2015, The Local Government Boundary Commission for
England are seeking the views of local residents and organisations with a view to recommending new
electoral arrangements for the London Borough of Bexley. Their proposals will include :

          · The total number of councillors elected to the borough.
          · The number of wards.
          · The number of councillors representing each ward.
          · Ward boundaries.
          · Names of wards.

LGBCE are asking local people and organisations for their views as to the best pattern of wards for the
borough which meet the requirements shown above.
The Commission will treat all submissions equally and will judge each case on its merits and against the
        statutory criteria.

If you wish to put forward a view, LGBCE urge you to ensure that your submission is supported by
evidence. They give the example that if you wish to argue that two neighbourhoods should be included in
the same wards, you should make sure that you tell the Commission why they should be together,
providing evidence about community facilities, ties, organisations and amenities, rather than simply
        asserting that they belong together.
There is more advice on their website : www.lgbce.org.uk about how to get involved in the consultation and
put views forward. The website includes the technical guidance that explains the process and their policies
as well as guidance on how to take part in each part of the process.

There is a page dedicated to the review of the London Borough of Bexley where you can find all the
        relevant information.

You can access interactive maps of the current ward boundaries across the borough on their consultation
portal : www.consultation.lgbce.org.uk/ which will allow you to draw your own boundaries, mark areas of
interest on the map and upload documents directly to the site.
